Application of SPSS Data Analysis in Moral Teaching of College English Course

ABSTRACT

Many researchers and educators agreed that integrating moral education in college English courses is an inevitable trend of college English curriculum reform, and all English teachers bear the responsibility to fulfill the mission. Some schools and teachers are working on the content of moral education and some of them are devoting to the ways that can be used to integrate moral education in college English teaching and learning. Based on the data collected in a questionnaire, by applying the SPSS data processing software, the paper researches the current situation of moral, ideological and political education in college English courses in Shaanxi Province, analyzes the teachers’ attitudes towards and understanding of the importance, contents, ways, influence of integrating moral education, and the problems they are facing. From the analysis we can draw the conclusion that the majority of teachers in colleges and universities in Shaanxi show great determination of the integrating moral education in college English courses. But they also need to strive to improve their personal knowledge and ability to ensure the quality and efficiency of moral education.
