Research on Improved Blockchain Broadcasting Mechanism Based on DHT

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of low transaction throughput in blockchain cryptocurrencies, many researches start from the consensus mechanism, while few researches on the broadcast mechanism of blockchain. Therefore, we propose an improved blockchain message broadcast mechanism based on distributed hash table (DHT). The scheme uses Kademlia protocol, the third generation DHT technology, to map the blockchain nodes to a Kad binary tree. Through the special broadcast algorithm design, the redundant messages and propagation delay existing in the blockchain broadcast are reduced, so as to reduce the blockchain fork and improve the transaction efficiency. By constructing a colored Petri net model of broadcast mechanism and comparing with simulation experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the messages redundancy of blockchain network is proved.
