Design and Engineering Application of Ultra-Light Steel Truss Support System for Cantilever Beam Cover

Published:14 March 2022Publication History

ABSTRACT

The new urban expressway viaduct in soft-soil area is faced with some difficulties, such as poor geological conditions, construction site shortage, and rapid increase in the cost of pond dregs and earthwork. Therefore, the temporary support system of ultra-light large-span covered beam with cantilever is designed. The dead load of cantilever-truss is 15 tons, the cantilever is 9.5 meters, and it can bear the temporary load of 480 tons of cover beam construction. The engineering practice shows that the ultra-light large-span covered beam with cantilever reduces the requirements for traditional technology on temporary measures of material input, lifting machinery and operators. The comprehensive cost and operation cycle of this project are only 45% and 60% of full floating rear axle framing, which has significant economic value and social benefits.
