CheckMate: A Bucket List App Facilitating Collaborative Social Interactions

ABSTRACT

CheckMate, a social media platform, enables users to complete their bucket lists efficiently and effectively organise them with editorials, peer learnings, and validations. By adopting a user-centred design process, we explored how CheckMate would enable people to interact, collaborate and achieve goals and desires with people sharing the same interests. It aims at organising the user’s bucket list with active tracking of one’s achievements, gamified elements for added incentives, and intelligent suggestions based on one’s interests and past accomplishments to create memories and human-human interaction through collaboration. CheckMate’s goal is to facilitate support and motivation by providing a platform to interact with people with similar interests and gain insights from one another. This paper will discuss user research and design processes and their importance in our application development.
