An Empirical Analysis of the Economic Pulling Effects of Tourism Industry in Wuhan City Based on Grey Relational Analysis

Published: 28 March 2022 Publication History

Abstract

Using the Grey relation analysis method to analyze the relevance of tourism industry in Wuhan city and the city's primary, secondary and tertiary industries, and revealing the coordination of tourism industry and the local national economic development in Wuhan, then calculating the three indicators such as tourism dependence, tourism contribution rate, and tourism pulling rate of Wuhan from 1986 to 2020,it is summarized and refined the time evolution law of tourism industry's pulling effects on the city's economic development in Wuhan. The research results show that GDP of Wuhan is increasingly dependent on the tourism industry, and the pulling effects of tourism on economy in Wuhan is becoming more and more obvious. Among them, the tourism industry in Wuhan has the highest correlation with the tertiary industry, and the correlation with the primary industry and the secondary industry is not obvious, especially the primary industry has basically no correlation. In the context of the rural revitalization strategy, Wuhan City should increase the degree of relevance between the tourism industry and the primary industry to further enhance the pulling effects of the tourism industry on Wuhan's economy.
