Research on the Bicycle Collision Accident with MADYMO Model

Published: 13 April 2022 Publication History

Abstract

In order to improve the accuracy of bicycle traffic accident simulation, and attain more specific injury information of bicyclist, a modeling method that is based on facet model and coupled FE-MB human model (HM), which is based on the bicyclist contact characteristics, is proposed. For a real accident case, attaining the vehicle motion parameters by means of PhotoModeler to reconstruct the accident 3D scene, the simulation results show that the physical process of the vehicle collision is the same as that of the accident video record, and the injury characteristics of the human model are consistent with that of the bicyclist, which verifies the validity of the simulation model. The facet model and coupled human model (CHM) are equipped with the characteristics of MB model's fast calculation speed and FE model's accuracy, this modeling method provides a new idea for the reconstruction of bicycle traffic accident and even more general dynamic simulation
