ABSTRACT
Wireless laser communication technology with low latency, high capacity, and high confidentiality makes laser in satellite communication, troop mobile communication and traditional network supplemental communication of great practical value, since the Laguerre Gauss beam propagation in turbulent atmosphere has lower scintillation characteristics. By simulating the light intensity distribution, phase variation and the ITU-R model for different turbulence cases, the characteristics of the Laguerre Gauss beam are analyzed for different values of the Laguerre Gauss beam in this paper, i.e., the angular modulus. This paper finds that, at the on-axis position, the scintillation of Laguerre Gauss beams with zero angular modulus is theoretically lower than that of the fundamental Gauss beams, while the scintillation value gradually decreases as the radial modulus rises, and at the off-axis position, the Laguerre Gauss beams have the scintillation value is generally higher than that of the fundamental Gaussian beam.
