TANDOORI: A Passive Customer-Centric and Truly End-to-End Approach using e-KYC and Location-based Positioning for Logistics Services

Published: 18 April 2022 Publication History

Abstract

Logistics chain customers, including senders and recipients, today suffer from being unable to track their delivery status. In fact, the delivery status has never been truly end-to-end; recipients are not aware of when senders will send a parcel to them until they are informed by the senders. This paper presents a solution, called TANDOORI, involving electronic Know-Your-Customer (e-KYC) and GPS for location positioning. This approach provides a truly end-to-end approach throughout the logistics chain, allowing recipients to be automatically and periodically informed once the senders drop off a parcel for delivery. It also ensures that the recipients’ postal addresses are always accurate, underpinned by the use of e-KYC and GPS. Moreover, an extension of TANDOORI is expected to create new logistics functions, business models, and norms.
