ABSTRACT

With the globalization, the world becomes more and more connected. International business is getting common and intercultural business communication is gaining its importance. People who can manage foreign languages with good intercultural awareness and have decent business knowledge are popular and competitive to the market. Therefore, to meet the market needs, it's high time that universities and colleges cultivate students’ Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) in business settings. The author put forward “Intercultural Business Communicative Competence (IBCC)”, which refers to the ability to have effective and appropriate business communication in intercultural settings. Based on personal understanding and teaching experience, this paper put forward “M.A.K.E” model for cultivating college students in intercultural business communicative competence. It can provide reference for EFL(English as Foreign Language)teaching, intercultural teaching, business English teaching and other communication course teaching.
