ABSTRACT

In recent years, companies have relied more on technology and innovative research and development capabilities to enhance their competitiveness. Scholars have also begun to pay attention to the impact of different influencing factors on corporate research and development. As society attaches importance to gender equality and the proportion of female CEOs continues to increase, the influence of female CEOs on the decision-making of listed companies has also attracted more attention. This paper uses GEM listed companies from 2010 to 2020 as the research sample. The empirical results show that female CEOs will have a significant negative impact on the R&D of listed companies, that is when the CEO is female, the R&D of the company will be significantly reduced. This study may provide reference for listed companies and investors.
