ABSTRACT

This paper deals with direction of arrival (DOA) estimation based on hybrid digital and analog phase alignment (HDAPA) technique for hybrid analog and digital (HAD) massive receive array. To avoid the high-complexity of HADPA and analog phase alignment (APA) due to pure linear searching with small step-size, based on spatial spectral estimation, a root-MVDR-HDAPA method is presented to achieve an extremely low complexity with an approximately close form. However, this rooting method is suboptimal in the presence of large noise. In this paper, we also propose an improved polynomial rooting estimation method that is showing with robustness in the low signal-to-noise ratio scenario. Several computer simulations are provided for illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
