ABSTRACT

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, quality assurance through peer-to-peer interviews in facilities for people with disabilities in Upper Austria were abruptly stopped. Sheltered workshops were closed and sheltered accommodations were sealed off to the outside. To ensure that the needs, concerns and experiences of people with disabilities can still be heard, the KI-I developed new instruments and procedures for online peer-to-peer evaluations. This paper shows that it is possible and useful for people with learning disabilities to carry out or participate in online peer-to-peer interviews. Digital participation plays a crucial role in enabling people with disabilities to participate in digital life and thus, in many cases, participate also in social life.
