5G Software-defined Networks for Power Internet of things

Published:13 March 2023Publication History

ABSTRACT

The combination of 5G and smart grid will produce a strong chemical reaction, accelerating the digital transformation of the power industry and realizing accurate, efficient and safe operation and maintenance of the power industry. The power system has high requirements for safety, real-time and fast response to faults, and more stringent requirements for communication systems. In this paper, from the perspective of technical performance analysis of 5GHz low-power WAN, we will propose several network parameter configurations and optimization to adapt to the QoS requirements of smart grid services by simulating the BER of wireless signal coverage and transmission performance in multiple operating bands such as 900MHz NBIoT, 5GHz PMU and 5GHz MIMO, and multiple scenarios such as dense urban areas, suburban areas and rural areas Several network parameters configuration and optimization schemes are proposed to meet the QoS requirements of smart grid services.
