Improved Routing Design of Internet of Things Sensor Network Based on Optimized Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

Published: 03 November 2023 Publication History

Abstract

In the Internet of Things, the physical world itself becomes an information system. Sensors and micro devices are embedded in objects. They are connected to the Internet through wired or wireless networks using the same network protocols. The IoT(Internet of Things) can monitor stress, temperature, pressure, image and other parameters of the surrounding environment through sensors. With the maturity of sensor technology, wireless sensor network, as the most promising technology, has many applications, including data acquisition and event detection. This paper proposes an improved design strategy based on the optimized particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve the shortest path routing problem in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, MATLAB is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol. It is found that compared with LEACH(Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) protocol, the protocol reduces packet loss by about 25%. The simulation results show that the IPSO(Improved Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm can improve the network coverage by 15.21%, while only 10 nodes need to be added to improve connectivity, and the network performance has been significantly improved.
