Analysis of EV Charging Infrastructure and its impact on Public Adoption: Examining the Critical Role of Charging Stations in the Acceleration of Electric Vehicle Market Growth

Published: 10 August 2023 Publication History

Abstract

The adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is dependent on the availability of adequate charging infrastructure. As the number of EVs on roads continue to increase, there is a growing need for more charging stations to be installed to meet demands of EV owners. This paper examines the critical role of charging stations in accelerating growth of the EV market. It analyzes the current state of EV charging infrastructure; challenges hindering its expansion; and explains the need for adequate charging infrastructure. Additionally, the study discusses various types of charging stations, their benefits, and drawbacks; it highlights the key drivers and barriers to facilitate the development of charging infrastructure. This paper concludes by emphasizing the need for continued investments and support of EV charging infrastructure to drive mass adoption of EVs and reduce carbon emissions.
