Design of a Solution Concentration Measurement System Based on Light Intensity Method

Published:27 July 2023Publication History

ABSTRACT

The concentration of a solution has a very broad impact on industrial production, making its detection very necessary. In this paper, a solution concentration measurement system based on the relationship between solution concentration and refractive index using the optical intensity method is designed. The system uses a microcontroller to control the measurement process, PC software to process the data, and store the processed results in a data table, while a mobile application displays real-time measurement results. The system uses a calibration method before measurement to measure the concentration of a solution, and can measure the concentration of unknown solutions, thereby expanding the range of measurable solutions. The system was tested on various solutions, and the testing process and results were illustrated using NaCl solution as an example in this paper. The results indicate that the relative error of the device is less than 7% with an accuracy of up to 0.1%, demonstrating high precision.
