Study on the Construction of Case Base at Home and Abroad in the Metauniverse era

Published:15 August 2023Publication History

ABSTRACT

This paper studies the case database and case method of Chinese professional degree in the metacosmic environment. Firstly, the characteristics of case studies and the experience of case development in developed countries are analysed. The American model, represented by the Harvard Business School case library, focuses on describing the background, participants and issues of the case, which is scientific, timely, typical and practical. The European model takes France and Germany as representative cases of origin and development, focusing on the practical problems of companies as the case basis. The Canadian model emphasises the "integrated" development of case teaching and learning, with the characteristics of mature case development and rich teaching experience. The United States, Europe and Canada invest a considerable amount of money each year in case development. The cost of developing a case library at Harvard is 60,000 to 80,000 yuan, with about 350 cases developed annually; the cost of developing a case library at Cambridge University is 70,000 to 100,000 yuan, with about 200 cases developed annually; the cost of developing a case library at Yiwei Business School in Canada is 60,000 to 120,000 yuan, with about 600 cases developed annually. This paper analyses the problems faced in the construction of China's case database and case method. Second, it analyses the concept and characteristics of the metauniverse, and presents the possibility of introducing the "metauniverse" technology into the construction of China's case library and case method to build a technological model of the metauniverse. Finally, it is proposed that the "metauniverse" technology will bring profound changes to the construction of China's case library and case method. Conducting effective case previews in the metaverse environment before class. Provide diversified interactive learning in the metaverse environment during class. Consolidate case analysis skills in human-computer interaction after class. Metaverse visualises case stories. Metaverse contextualises case stories. Compared with the traditional case method mode, the introduction of meta universe technology in teaching can compensate for the problems faced in the construction of China's case library and case method. The "meta universe" technology provides a good training platform for the construction of China's case library and case method, which can solve the time and space constraints of the traditional teaching mode. The application of metaverse technology can also stimulate students' learning enthusiasm and improve the learning results. The "meta universe" technology can provide an immersive and interactive platform for case base construction and case method. This case training platform, based on the "metaverse", is conducive to helping users understand and master knowledge. Through the "meta universe" technology, learners can understand case knowledge in a virtual environment, make theoretical knowledge more visual, and cultivate a new model of case method. The application of "Metauniverse" in China's professional degree case library and case method has broad prospects.
