ABSTRACT
The rate of digital transformation of the public sector is becoming faster, and globally, artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the process of providing administrative services. Despite progress made in recent years, Bulgaria's digital transformation lags behind global trends. This necessitates a more in-depth study of the process of digitization in public services. The aim of this paper is to analyze the digital transformation in Bulgarian municipalities against the background of the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). The tasks are to analyze literary statements about digital transformation and the possibilities of AI in public administration, to conduct research in three stages to define digital profiles in various aspects of digital transformation, and to measure the levels of provision of electronic administrative services in Bulgaria during 2022. As a result, digital profiles have been defined, and the current state of digital transformation in Bulgaria has been mapped.
