The Significance Effect of Social Media on The Achievement Motivation of Students in The Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0

ABSTRACT

The background of this research is that currently the world of education, especially in tertiary institutions, cannot escape from the effect of the 4.0 industrial revolution in almost all its aspects. Therefore, in this research, it is important to examine how much the effect of social media on the achievement motivation of students in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. This needs to be researched because the use of social media in education cannot be avoided in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, both in online and offline learning systems, which are better known as blended learning systems. This research used quantitative methods and literature review. From the research data obtained and then processed with the SPSS 22 program, this research concluded that Social Media has a very significance effect on the achievement motivation of students in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The implication is that students must be encouraged to be able to use Social Media as well as possible to support their learning processes and outcomes. Like it or not, lecturers must also have the basic competencies needed in this industrial revolution 4.0 era.
