Research on Application of 3D Space Point Cloud in Substation Safety Monitoring

Published: 26 March 2024 Publication History

Abstract

The substation safety monitoring system based on video monitoring technology has been widely used, but the two-dimensional video as a monitoring carrier can no longer meet the needs of large-scale, multi-scenario, and all-round safety monitoring of substations. The 3D scanning point cloud has the same precise physical scale as the real scene, which is very suitable as a digital base for 3D security monitoring. Aiming at the actual needs of 3D security monitoring in substations, this paper focuses on the data and information mapping from 2D images to 3D space, and proposes a method for updating the 3D position of personnel and dynamically updating the scene texture to support the 3D application of substation security monitoring.
