Co-channel interference cancellation and equalization in aeronautical telemetry using multiple antennas

Published: 22 February 2024 Publication History

Abstract

In this manuscript, we introduce an innovative approach to attenuate both Inter-symbol Interference (ISI) and Co-channel Interference (CCI) in the realm of aeronautical telemetry applications, employing Shaped Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Telemetry Group version (SOQPSK-TG) waveforms. Our method incorporates the utilization of space-time and Wiener filters, subject to specific constraints. By taking into account the spatial and temporal correlations inherent in both the expected and interfering signals, we have integrated a constraint coefficient, thereby facilitating a delicate equilibrium between the mitigation of interference and the preservation of the desired signal's fidelity. Results derived from simulations unequivocally demonstrate a marked improvement in the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance subsequent to the application of our proposed methodology.
