ABSTRACT
At this thesis, a dual-hop unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based radio-frequency (RF) and free-space optical communication (FSO) network is studied, where the connection between the RF chain and the FSO chain is through a amplify-and-forward relay (AF) relay. And the FSO chain suffers a Gamma-Gamma distribution with a effects of the atmospheric turbulence and pointing error and the UAV-based RF channel suffers from Rican fading. With this model, closed-form expressions for the outage probability (OP), average bit error rate (ABER), and the average channel capacity (ACC) are derived. Furthermore, asymptotic analysis of the OP and ABER are obtained. Finally, simulation analysis are provided to verify the analytical analysis.
