ABSTRACT
The classic chaotic signal generation circuit is a simple nonlinear electronic circuit, which is composed of resistors, inductors, capacitors, diodes, and operational amplifiers. Based on the Chua's circuit, an active inductor was proposed in this paper to replace the traditional passive inductor for generating chaotic signals. The active inductor proposed in this paper exhibited great characteristics due to its multiplicate advantages such as simplicity, precisely adjust the value of inductor and lower equivalent resistance losses than traditional passive inductor. Furthermore, a unidirectional amplification circuit was added to enhances the chaotic circuit's observation sensitivity. The theoretical validation was conducted on the Multisim simulation platform and further validation is conducted by hardware experiments Both results of time-domain simulation waveforms and phase trajectory plots and hardware experiments showed that different types of chaotic attractors were obtained during the process of adjusting the feedback resistance value of the chaotic circuit, which proved that the proposed circuit can be used in chaotic system successfully.
