Challenges and Opportunities in Modeling Dronebased Surveillance for Open Border Security in Vulnerable Gaps and Areas: A Review

Published: 13 May 2024 Publication History

Abstract

Drone-based surveillance has arisen as a promising answer for observing and securing open borders in vulnerable gaps and regions. In recent years, researchers have put forth considerable attempts to foster models and frameworks for drone-based surveillance, fully intent on giving powerful border security. This research paper gives a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities related to the displaying of drone-based surveillance for open border security in vulnerable gaps and areas. The present status of the workmanship in drone technologies, payload capacities, and sensor systems used for border surveillance is studied. In addition, the key technical and operational challenges facing the deployment of drones in open border surveillance scenarios are highlighted in this review paper. The latest research works have been reviewed and challenges and opportunities are addressed with summarization of their key findings. Finally, the capabilities of drone-based surveillance frameworks in enhancing border security are discussed, and future research directions to improve the performance and effectiveness of drone-based border surveillance systems are also suggested.
