Arabic Language: Traditional vs AI-Enhanced Instruction

Published: 13 May 2024 Publication History

Abstract

Today we are living in the age of technology. It plays a vital role in almost every field of human life. As we see its role in industries and professional setups, we can easily observe its big role in academic institutions as well. And now, as a paradigm shift, ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) is surpassing this mere technology and transforming the new generation into a new era - the era of Artificial Intelligence.
Teaching and learning the Arabic language is one the fastest growing languages to be taught and learned. It's being taught in a traditional way; face to face teaching and learning system, teaching Arabic texts, explaining the structure of sentences, basics of grammar and its application, and then, practices with the loaded exercises and assignments from the receivers’ end. But adapting with AI, the whole process of teaching and learning, especially the Arabic language, became easier, more interactive, and more challenging as well.
The study in hand aims to examine the role of AI in teaching and learning Arabic and to compare the traditional way of teaching Arabic with AI-assisted instruction from the effectiveness, interaction, and motivation point of view in the context of information management and machine intelligence.
