ABSTRACT
In this paper, high vowel [i] [u] [y] monosyllabic character with C(V) structure were extracted from more than 10 "Hua'er" songs recited and sung in Hezhou dialect. The formant, waveform diagram, spectrum diagram, the center of gravity and dispersion of high vowel [i] [u] [y] were extracted by PRAAT speech analysis software. Through comparative analysis, the acoustic and pronunciation characteristics of the C(V) structure monosyllabic high vowels [i [u] [y] in reciting and singing of "Hua'er" in Hezhou dialect are summarized

Acoustic space of Bangla vowels
SSIP'05: Proceedings of the 5th WSEAS international conference on Signal, speech and image processingAcoustic space of Bangla Vowel based on articulatory properties of vocal tract plays a significant role in Bangla speech synthesis and recognition. A vowel system is essentially a way of dividing up the "vowel space" into distinct vowel phonemes. In ...
Acoustic Space of Vowels with Different Tones: Case of Thai Language
IALP '10: Proceedings of the 2010 International Conference on Asian Language ProcessingThai language has five tones in phonemic contrast which makes it a good object to study if tonal contours or levels have any influence on spectral properties of vowels. The present study takes into account each one of the eighteen vowels of Thai with ...
Lingual and Acoustic Differences in EWE Oral and Nasal Vowels
ICDSP '19: Proceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Digital Signal ProcessingIt is an evidence that the production of nasal vowels involves not only the opening of the velopharyngeal port but also the lingual gesture variation. We tested the hypothesis that EWE speakers adjust tongue height to enhance the change in F1 due to the ...
