ABSTRACT
The first member of Qingshankou Formation in the Chaoyanggou Terrace of Songliao Basin is a deep-water deposit, so it is difficult to identify sequence interface and divide systems tract and parasequence by conventional methods such as core, outcrop, well logging and seismic data. However, the fine sediment of Qingshankou Formation is rich in organic matter which contains abundant information of lake level change. Based on core and well logging analysis, the TOC evolution of fine sediment is mainly studied, and the high-precision sequence division of deep water deposition is realized. The study area is mainly composed of deep lacustrine sediments dominated by lake organic matter, so it is feasible to take TOC as the main basis for the parasequence division in this study. By establishing the △logR-TOC relationship model, the organic matter abundance of wells with untested TOC was estimated, and then the sequences were divided into one third-order sequence, three systems tracts and 18 parasequences.
