Research on Web front-end performance optimization of campus portal websites

Published:03 May 2024Publication History

ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of information technology and the rapid popularization of the Internet, users have increasingly high requirements for website response speed, which makes website performance optimization extremely important. How to solve this problem is the key to improving user experience. This article first introduces the current situation of web front-end optimization at home and abroad, and proposes the necessity of web front-end performance optimization. This article analyzes the front-end design source code of the official website of Guangxi Construction Vocational College, and finds that the frequent use of div tags in its design complicates the structure of HTML documents without following the principles of separation of structure, representation, and behavior. Too many images lead to too many requests. Then, from the five aspects of HTML, CSS, Javascript, images, and HTML5 local storage technology, this article categorizes and introduces front-end performance optimization solutions, And test the performance improvement of each optimization solution through the Chrome browser developer tool Timeline. A comparative analysis of the timeline before and after optimization shows that the optimized webpage has a shorter loading time.
