Research on IoT-based Smart Clothes Drying Rack

Published:03 May 2024Publication History

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on designing an automatic clothes drying rack based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The devised clothes drying rack encompasses both software and hardware advancements, adopting embedded system development techniques. The foundation of this development lies in the STM32 embedded chip, which operates synchronously with diverse sensors to execute intelligent rain avoidance actions. Moreover, enhanced deep ultraviolet LED beads and PTC warm air fans have been integrated for synchronized drying and sterilization functions. The incorporated thermal screen employs sunlight fabric material, offering insulation and protection against ultraviolet radiation. The interaction between the clothes drying rack and the designated mobile APP is facilitated through Bluetooth connectivity, enabling remote monitoring of the drying rack's status. Through collected data on the humidity variation of drying items and the parallel line method, a comparative analysis against clothes drying racks of similar price points on the market reveals an 3.3% increase in drying efficiency and a sterilization rate of up to 99.8%.
