The Research and Application of UPS Devices in Impulse Generator Sets

Published: 20 September 2024 Publication History

Abstract

This paper analyzes the necessity of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) devices in operation of impulse generator set. The working principles and debugging methods of UPS systems are studied, along with their practical applications at engineering sites. The study indicates that UPS can provide immediate and continuous power in the event of an unexpected outage. Thereby preventing issues that may arise from the oil lubrication circulation system ceasing to operate due to a mains power interruption, leading to dry friction between the rotor and the bearing, as well as issues with the generator set being unable to cool down due to the cessation of the water cooling circulation system. Adopting UPS systems not only significantly extends the Service life of impulse generator set but also improves operational safety standards.
