Bearings-only passive location mathematical model for UAV cluster based on three points

Published:03 May 2024Publication History

ABSTRACT

The first question of question B in the undergraduate group of the 2022 National University Mathematical Modeling Competition in China is: At the center of the circle there is one drone, while the remaining 9 drones are evenly distributed on a circumference, and together they form a circular formation. A swarm of drones flies at the same altitude. In it, two UAVs in the center of the circle and in the formation actively transmit signals, while other UAVs with slightly different positions passively receive these signals. When the drone sends a signal for location transmission has no deviation and the number is known, a bearings-only passive location mathematical model based on three points is established by using the sine theorem, cosine theorem, and nonlinear equations, and the model is proved to be of high fit.
