Analysis of Omni-directional Collision and Study of Influence Law of Cable-stayed Bridge Barriers

Published: 01 June 2024 Publication History

Abstract

In order to explore the safety effects of vehicle collisions with different types of barriers and different positions of barriers on cable-stayed bridge collision, a comprehensive collision system of cable-stayed bridge, barriers and vehicle was established by means of computer simulation technology, and the analysis of omni-directional collision and influence law of cable-stayed bridge barriers were carried out. The study results show that: HA class beam-column steel barriers are installed on the cable-stayed bridge, which can provide better protection for vehicle and stay cable; When the vehicle impact barriers and scratch the stay cable, the closer to the cable tower position (the greater the angle between the stay cable and the bridge deck), the vehicle damage is more serious and the stay cable force is greater, and along the driving direction, the vehicle impact in front of the cable tower is more damaged than behind the cable tower, the closer the transverse distance between barriers and stay cable is, the protective effect will be adversely affected. The conclusions can be used for reference in the cable-stayed bridge barriers design of new construction project and management of existing construction.
