Impact of Different Bidding Methods for New Energy Units on Clearing Results of Electricity Spot Market

Published: 31 July 2024 Publication History

Abstract

As the proportion of China's new energy installed capacity continues to increase and the pace of power marketization continues to accelerate, the impact of different bidding methods for new energy units participating in the power spot market on the market clearing results cannot be ignored. The power spot market clearing algorithm is the basis for simulation. This article first introduces the power spot market clearing model based on SCUC + SCED + LMP in detail, then analyzes the bidding method of new energy units participating in the power spot market, and finally uses a certain province to build a system with real data to conduct simulations of spot market clearing under different new energy bidding strategies, and verify the impact on spot market clearing through analysis and comparison.
