Overview of progress and trends in research on modernization of science and technology

Abstract
It is of great significance to further clarify the latest research hotspots and evolutionary trends of S&T modernization in China, in order to promote the development of S&T modernization and support and lead the process of Chinese-style modernization. The domestic literature on S&T modernization from 1992 to 2024 included in China Knowledge Network is used as the data source, which is analyzed and processed using CiteSpace visual analysis software to reveal the relevant research hotspots and evolutionary trends. The results show that: (1) in terms of the overall trend, the annual literature publication volume shows a change trend of growth followed by decline and then sharp growth, reaching two peaks in 2002 and 2024; (2) in terms of the volume of publications, Prof. Xia Jin has the largest number of publications, which makes an indispensable contribution to the promotion of S&T modernization; (3) the research hotspots are focused on the themes of S&T innovation, S&T progress, productivity, and agricultural science and technology, reflecting certain several themes, reflecting certain problems and policy orientations. Finally, the direction of further research and exploration is proposed from the perspectives of forming a complete research chain and forming a collaborative research situation.
