Application of Information Management System in International Consortium Executed Project

Published: 15 October 2024 Publication History

Abstract

This article explores the significance of information management system construction for enhancing governance capacity in overseas projects, using the construction project of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) as a case study. It outlines the project's background, highlighting challenges posed by geographical dispersion and cultural differences for the Consortium. The article emphasizes the need for information management system in project management, addressing issues such as construction and contract management. It proposes strategies and functionalities for building adaptable information systems tailored to project requirements. Furthermore, it evaluates the impact of these systems, including data accumulation, centralized control, standardized management, and fine-tuned management. Ultimately, it underscores how information system construction not only boosts project management efficiency but also ensures smooth operation of future overseas endeavors.
