Metaverse: The Future of Service Design

Published: 15 October 2024 Publication History

Abstract

The metaverse is a new type of virtual social space in the future, which can interact with the real world and influence each other through scientific and technological means. At present, countries all over the world are actively carrying out research work related to the metaverse, but there are few studies related to service design in the metaverse. This study aims to investigate how service design should be implemented in the future metaverse world. In this paper, we use the comparative analysis method to summarize the current service design contents against the background of literature research and conduct a comparative analysis of service design in the current and future metaverse worlds by combining the application scenarios of the metaverse. This paper depicts the service design of the future metaverse world in multiple dimensions from the service model, service scenario, service design principles, and service value chain areas. For the first time, we propose the relationship model between the service and service model, and the development law of metaverse on the service model. The differences between metaverse service scenarios and real service scenarios are explored, and the service design principles of the metaverse world are proposed. Meanwhile, a new viewpoint that can help service value creation is proposed on the theoretical construction of the service value chain in the metaverse.
