Abstract
The Department of Defense (DOD) is changing the security structure of the Defense Data Network. Existing classified backbones are merging to form a single segment. DISNET, that uses a new host - to - host encryption system. When completed, DISNET will carry classified data of all security levels, while MILNET continues to carry unclassified traffic. MILNET is being strengthened by link encryption devices on trunk and access lines. Subscriber computers and network elements in both DISNET and MILNET will have to satisfy at least Class C2 (Controlled Access Protection) of the DOD Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria. There are no similar plans for the Internet.

Notional security architecture for the department of defense (DoD) networks transitioning to internet protocol version 6 (IPv6)
MILCOM'06: Proceedings of the 2006 IEEE conference on Military communicationsThe United States (US) Department of Defense(DoD) has been tasked by the DoD Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO) to transition its networks from Internet Protocol (IP) version 4 (IPv4) to IP version 6 (IPv6) by fiscal year 2008 (FY08). This will be a ...
Efficient defence against misbehaving TCP receiver DoS attacks
The congestion control algorithm of TCP relies on correct feedback from the receiver to determine the rate at which packets should be sent into the network. Hence, correct receiver feedback (in the form of TCP acknowledgements) is essential to the goal ...
IPv6 Addressing Architecture in IPv4 Network
ICCSN '10: Proceedings of the 2010 Second International Conference on Communication Software and NetworksIn the Internet, nodes are identified using IP addresses that depend on their topological location. IPv4/IPv6 translation technology involves address mapping between IPv6 and IPv4 nodes and the methods used to translate protocols, where nodes are in ...
