ABSTRACT
In this paper we discuss architecture for network aware adaptive systems for next generation networks. We present in the context of a novel cognizant video transcoding system, which is capable of negotiating local network state based rate and let the video propagate over extreme network with highly asymmetric link and node capacities utilizing knowlege about the network, content protocol and the content itself.
