Automated textile tensile testing

ABSTRACT

Alternative computer systems used in the automation of tensile testing of textile materials are examined. Typical dedicated and time-shared systems are described. The relative merits of the two types of systems for various applications are discussed. A system that is being designed to fit a specific application is also described.
