ABSTRACT
This presentation illustrates ILM's Digital Technology Group's latest groundbreaking developments. The in-house tools were used by ILM's many Digital Artists in the four major summer releases of 2001: Pearl Harbor, The Mummy Returns, AI and Jurassic Park III. These developments include: Rigid body dynamics for plane crashes and advanced smoke simulation (Pearl Harbor); advancements in motion capture technology (The Mummy Returns, Pearl Harbor); new advances in flesh simulation and creature dynamics (Jurassic Park III); and virtual set technology developed for real time on-set visualization (AI).
