The role of the faculty research consultant at Indiana University

Authors Info & Claims
Published:01 August 1990Publication History

ABSTRACT

  • What percentage of faculty on my campus can I count as active computists?

  • How can I determine faculty computing needs?

  • What can a Faculty Research Consultant do on my campus?

  • Does every campus need a specially designated faculty research consultant?

These are questions each university computing center must answer for itself.

This paper will endeavor to unravel some answers and give some insight into the functions this designated staff member performed at Indiana University-Bloomington. This perhaps will help determine campus needs for such a staff position.
